The student assistant will join a research team collecting data on
corporate CEOs and Boards of Directors. This work supports the
maintenance of the world's largest database of CEO departures-used
by researchers worldwide in management, finance, and accounting.
The database tracks the dates of CEO departures and compiles
related media coverage to help researchers analyze stock market
reactions, executive compensation decisions, and staffing trends.
It has been downloaded nearly 9,000 times but requires continual
updates and maintenance. The student assistant will work closely
with faculty researchers, with all work conducted in-person at the
Entrepreneurship Center (Conner 10) during regular business
hours.
Examples of Work Performed
Collect data from online news sources based on guidance from
supervising researchers
Accurately document findings in the database
Follow established protocols to ensure data quality and
consistency
Minimum Education/Experience
Currently enrolled student able to work in the office regularly
(1-2 days per week, 3-5 hours per session)
Mature, detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to
multitask
Quick learner with a positive, "can-do" attitude
Accounting major preferred
Expected graduation date of Spring 2026 or later
Relevant internship or work experience preferred
Salary/Wage Information
This positions pays $13.50/ hour
