We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst to join our team on a 100% remote basis. As a key member of our agile team, you will play a pivotal role in driving software development efforts, analyzing data to inform business decisions, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality products.

About the Role

As a Senior Technical Business Analyst, you will partner closely with our Product Owner to lead the decomposition of business initiatives into actionable features and user stories. You will serve as the primary liaison between the Scrum Team and stakeholders, ensuring that business goals are met and that the team is equipped to deliver innovative solutions. Your technical expertise and analytical skills will be crucial in gathering and analyzing data, defining system requirements, and providing quality requirements to our engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to break down large epics into features and user stories that align with business objectives
  • Act as the day-to-day liaison between the Scrum Team and stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and issue resolution
  • Participate in standard Scrum ceremonies, providing the voice of the customer and driving continuous improvement
  • Communicate business goals and expected outcomes to the Scrum Team, enabling them to develop innovative solutions
  • Gather and analyze data to support business cases, proposed objectives, and system requirements
  • Develop and refine high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and testing criteria for engineering teams
  • Foster a collaborative environment, building trust and rapport with team members and stakeholders
  • Ensure the Scrum Team is prepared for development sprints by clarifying questions, understanding impact analysis, and managing the backlog
  • Apply various techniques to facilitate meetings and workshops, creating a shared understanding among stakeholders
  • Research and recommend solutions to complex business and technical problems, working closely with the Product Owner
  • Provide input to root cause analysis for issues that arise in production, driving continuous improvement

Essential Qualifications and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner for software engineering teams
  • 3+ years of experience as an analyst in a business or IT discipline
  • 2+ years of experience operating in an Agile delivery process
  • Extensive experience creating user stories and acceptance criteria to express requirements
  • Experience providing product management support, including prioritization and backlog grooming
  • Technical expertise in SQL and API tools like Postman and SoapUI
  • Experience with diagramming tools such as LucidChart and/or Miro
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with technical and non-technical team members
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to self-motivate and work independently
  • Experience with JIRA, Aha!, and other requirements management tools
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a Business-related discipline

The anticipated annual base salary for this position in the US is $100,000 to $110,000. This range does not include other compensation components or benefits that you may be eligible for.
