The Role of a Paraprofessional at Glenwood High School

As a Paraprofessional at GHS, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher and contributing to the overall educational experience of our students. Your responsibilities will include:

Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Be at least 19 years of age.
  • Provide proof of one of the following:
    • Bachelor's Degree or higher.
    • 60 semester hours of college coursework.
    • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency AND a passing score on the ACT Work Keys Test OR a passing score on the ETS ParaPro Test.
  • Hold one of the following licenses:
    • Professional Educator's License (PEL).
    • Substitute License (SUB).
    • Educator License with Stipulations (ELS-PARA).

While not required, the following qualifications are highly preferred:

  • Previous experience working in an educational setting, either as a paraprofessional or in another role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to supporting the diverse needs of students.
