Human Resources Generalist II - Remote and visit supported work sites weekly.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist II provides support and demonstrates knowledge in functional areas of Human Resources including, but not limited to, recruitment & staffing, employee relations, performance management, benefits, training & development, and compensation. They will perform tasks and duties that support the overall compliance of Human Resources and help to ensure that the department is effectively meeting state, federal, local laws, and statutes.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Train and develop the Human Resources Generalist I positions, review their tasks, and delegate new tasks to them under the guidance of the Human Resources Advisor.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Supports the implementation and execution of Human Resources policies and procedures for multiple departments and/or functional groups
• Provides support by assisting with multiple tasks which include employee guidance, policy clarification, employee relations, corrective action advise, training &development, performance evaluations, and exit interviews
• Seeks and designs process improvements utilizing technological solutions
• Assists with processing day-to-day paperwork, data entry and coordination with payroll
• Conducts various regulatory reviews, processes, and audits as necessary to ensure programs compliance
• Provides ongoing career development assistance to employees through guidance and training programs
• Presents H.R. functions and roles at new hire orientation
• Provides support for employee related inquires while referring complex and/or sensitive matters to respective departmental staff
• Attends and assists as witness in employee investigations and disciplinary meetings
• Partners with Compensation and/or Departmental Leadership to recommend salary ranges, adjustments, and market analysis for different positions. Maintaining compliance with FLSA statutes
• Facilitates and mediates employee interventions and conflict resolution
• Provides coaching for leadership on performance management, behavioral issues, corrective actions, policy interpretations, terminations to minimize legal exposure
• Ensure employment actions are appropriately documented and consistent with policies and laws
• Assists with legal responses (EEOC/Unemployment) to minimize unfavorable determinations and related expenses when applicable
• Provides support for HR leadership when needed
• Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to cause continual improvements
• Communicates and interprets policies, procedures, and regulations to departmental leaders and employees
• Processes inquiries through the Human Resources Ticketing System
• Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
• Education /Background:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Humanities, or related area or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant human resources experience, with at least two (2) years in full-time Generalist role
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may meet the qualifications for this position such as an Associate’s degree and five (5) years of relevant human resources experience.
• Must have the ability to obtain a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) within the first two (2) years of employment
• Other Requirements:
• Will have a thorough understanding of Federal and State Employment Law required for Colorado as assigned state.
• Will have working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including compensation practices, diversity, and performance management
• Proficiency with various software including Microsoft Office 365, compensation, and HRIS software
• Proficiency with ADP preferred

Preferred:
Previous experience working HR in an Early Child Development or school environment is a plus.

Schedule: Regular - Full Time (FT), Days, 8AM to 5PM
