About Our Legal Team and the Role

Our Legal Team is known for its supportive and collaborative approach to counseling, and we're looking for a skilled Legal Compliance Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Legal Operations team, you'll be responsible for driving operational excellence in the legal compliance space, leveraging people, process, and technology to achieve our goals.

In this pivotal role, you'll be the first Legal Compliance Operations program manager, responsible for building a dynamic and fast-moving Legal Compliance function from the ground up. You'll work closely with our Senior Manager of Legal Operations, Litigation, and Privacy counsel to shape the vision and direction of our legal and state agency response processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly manage an internal team of 4 Legal Operations Analysts and 1 Team Lead, leading workflows related to Garnishments, Unemployment Insurance, Third Party Data Requests, and Legal Triage.
  • Oversee DoorDash's Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Team, forming and maintaining strategic relationships, negotiating rates, reviewing invoices, and conducting quarterly performance reviews.
  • Build, develop, and drive the adoption of new workflow automation and business intelligence technology to scale and innovate existing legal compliance processes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Legal Data Engineering, Security, and IT, to drive and execute midsize to large-scale data and technology-related projects.
  • Oversee internal daily operations and partner with vendors and outside counsel to prepare data in response to legal and state agency requests.
  • Take on increasingly complex projects and responsibilities as your experience grows, driving continuous improvement and innovation in our legal compliance operations.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A BA/BS degree in pre-law or business fields.
  • 8+ years of progressive legal process support experience in fast-moving environments.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a people management role, with a proven ability to lead and mentor teams effectively.
  • Extraordinary written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the DoorDash brand with humility and a customer-first mindset.
  • Experience in reading and responding to subpoenas, garnishments, liens or levies, and/or unemployment claims.
  • Strong project management experience and previous success in meeting deadlines in scrappy environments.
  • Proficiency in technology, including Google Workplace, Slack, MacOS, MS Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience working in business intelligence tools like Mode, Sigma, and Tableau.

Compensation and Perks

The base pay for this position ranges from $109,800 to $161,500 USD, depending on your location and experience. In addition to base salary, you'll have opportunities for equity grants and other benefits.
