Key Responsibilities
- Prior Authorizations and Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage, obtain prior authorizations, and communicate with patients, providers, and insurance payers via telephone and email.
- Patient and Insurance Communication: Receive inbound and outbound calls from patients and insurance providers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Insurance Coverage Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage, including Medicare and Medicaid, to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
- Claim Adjudication and Medical Billing: Utilize knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT to support claim adjudication and medical billing processes.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry and record-keeping, to support the healthcare services team.
Essential Qualifications
- 1+ Year of Recent Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in medical insurance verification, prior authorizations, or a related field.
- Insurance Verification and Claim Adjudication: Experience with insurance verification, claim adjudication, or medical billing is required.
- Medicare/Medicaid Program Administration: Experience working with Medicare and Medicaid program administration is highly desirable.
- ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT Knowledge: Knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT is a significant plus, demonstrating a strong understanding of medical coding and billing principles.
- Reliability and Attendance: A track record of reliability and attendance is essential, with no attendance issues.
