Job Summary
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our remote urgent care call center, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, promoting health through evidence-based clinical practices, and advocating for the voice of the patient. You will work collaboratively with our healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care, coordinate tests and follow-up care, and record treatment details in the medical record. Key Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Deliver high-quality patient care as directed by the provider, ensuring that care is culturally sensitive and patient-centered.
- Prepare Patients for Exams and Treatments: Prepare patients for examinations and assist during treatments, ensuring that patients are comfortable and informed throughout the process.
- Coordinate Tests and Follow-up Care: Coordinate necessary tests and follow-up care for patients, ensuring that care is delivered effectively and efficiently.
- Record Treatment Details: Record treatment details in the medical record, ensuring that accurate and up-to-date information is available to healthcare providers.
- Assist with Patient and Family Education: Assist with patient and family education, promoting health and wellness through evidence-based clinical practices.
- Promote Health through Evidence-Based Clinical Care: Promote health through evidence-based clinical care, utilizing analytical and critical thinking skills to ensure individualized patient care.
- Coordinate Safe and Quality Patient Care: Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, engaging in interdisciplinary communication methods and promoting a respectful clinical environment.
- Demonstrate Teamwork and Collaboration: Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration within the healthcare team, working effectively with providers, staff, and patients to deliver high-quality care.
- Complete Professional Competency Assessments: Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, ensuring that you are up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and technologies.
- Serve as a Preceptor or Mentor: Serve as a preceptor or mentor for other practical nurses and unlicensed staff, sharing your expertise and experience to support the growth and development of our team.
- Participate in Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Participate in evidence-based practice and nursing research, contributing to performance improvement initiatives within the nursing field.
Requirements
- Education and Licensure: Graduate from a practical or vocational nursing program and current/active license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Georgia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association prior to hire date.
- Previous Healthcare Experience: Previous healthcare experience, preferably in an ambulatory or outpatient setting.
- Organizational and Time Management Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction.
- Interpersonal and Human Relations Skills: Strong interpersonal and human relations skills to interact positively with staff, providers, and patients.
- Communication and Computer Skills: Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and basic computer skills.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in a Hospital-Based Setting: Experience in a hospital-based setting may substitute for some required experience.
- ACLS/PALS Certification: ACLS/PALS certification may be required in some practice areas.
