About the Role

The Senior Big Data Software Engineer will be responsible for leading complex initiatives and projects within the Risk Technology domain, focusing on the design, development, testing, and deployment of innovative data solutions. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and projects within technical domain areas, driving the development of scalable and efficient data solutions.
  • Contribute to large-scale planning of strategies, collaborating with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop technical solutions.
  • Design, code, test, troubleshoot, and document projects and initiatives related to technology space, including upgrades and services.
  • Review moderately complex technical issues, providing in-depth analysis of technologies and methodologies to identify optimal solutions.
  • Resolve moderately complex issues, leading a team to meet existing client needs or potential new client needs, while utilizing strong understanding of functionality, methodologies, systems, or compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate and communicate with peers, partners, and mid-level managers to resolve technical issues and achieve objectives.
  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, providing guidance and direction to less experienced staff members.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of programming experience, demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Hadoop, Teradata, MongoDB, AWS, GitHub, and Bitbucket.
  • 3+ years of experience in designing, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting projects and initiatives.
  • 3+ years of experience with Python and Unix/Shell scripting, Scala, Flash, HBase, Oozie, Flume, and Kafka.
  • 3+ years of experience with Ansible.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the essential qualifications, the following preferred qualifications will be considered a plus:

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) across all organizational levels of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and possess a proactive attitude.
  • Experience in designing ETL data flows using creating mappings/workflows to extract data from SQL Server and Data Migration and Transformation from Oracle/Access/Excel Sheets using SQL Server SSIS.
  • Related experience working as a Programmer at Wells Fargo.
