As a key member of the Information Designing group within Disney's Data Designing and Solutions Infrastructure (DDSI), you will play a crucial role in designing and executing complex data pipelines, architectures, and processes that drive business growth and innovation.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the development and implementation of ETL/ELT data pipelines, data set mapping, and batch processes using cutting-edge technologies like Apache Airflow. This role requires close collaboration with Studios and Project Technology colleagues to gather data requirements, validate data, and deploy solutions across multiple environments, including DEV, QA/UAT, and Production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex ETL/ELT data pipelines using SQL, Python, and cloud-based technologies like AWS S3 and Snowflake.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements, validate data, and deploy solutions across multiple environments.
  • Develop and maintain data set mapping, tables, and views using relational databases like PostgreSQL.
  • Build and manage batch processes using Apache Airflow and other workflow management tools.
  • Participate in driving best practices around data engineering software development processes.
  • Work with large datasets and big data technologies, including cloud-based solutions like Snowflake, Databricks, or similar.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL and data pipeline development.
  • 2+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud-based technologies, ideally AWS and S3.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Data Engineering role.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Gitlab, Airflow, AWS S3, and relational databases.
  • 2+ years of experience managing a cloud platform.
  • 2+ years of experience working with data lakes, data warehouses, and application databases.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Airflow, Gitlab, Snowflake, and Scene.
  • A graduate degree in Computer Science, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in the streaming, media, or digital marketing domain.
