Job Summary

As a Pharmacy Customer Service Representative, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive exceptional service and support. You will be responsible for providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to our customers, resolving issues, and answering questions in a professional and empathetic manner. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, including greeting them, offering assistance, and resolving issues in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Register sales on assigned cash register and present customers with courteous, truthful, friendly, and efficient checkout service
  • Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, including using pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug data, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, and share customer support best practices with team members to deliver a unique and delightful customer experience
  • Provide customers with courteous, friendly, speedy, and efficient service, and recommend items for sale to customers, including change-up and/or companion items
  • Maintain counters and cabinets clean and well-merchandised, take inventory, and keep records, and perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, or Store Manager

Customer Experience

As a Pharmacy Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences to our patients. This includes:

  • Greeting customers and patients in a friendly and professional manner
  • Offering assistance with products and services, and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • Sharing customer support best practices with team members to deliver a unique and delightful customer experience
  • Providing customers with courteous, friendly, speedy, and efficient service, and recommending items for sale to customers

Operations

As a Pharmacy Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for performing various operational tasks, including:

  • Registers customer purchases on assigned cash register, collects cash, and distributes change as requested
  • Maintains counters and cabinets clean and well-merchandised, takes inventory, and keeps records
  • Performs duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, or Store Manager, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug data, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy
  • Reports prescription errors to pharmacists on duty and adheres to company guidelines and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and best practices

Education and Personal Development

We are committed to the ongoing education and development of our team members. As a Pharmacy Customer Service Representative, you will be required to:

  • Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the specialized PTCB training program and/or state-required certification/registration
  • Attend training and complete PPLs requested by supervisor or assigned by the company, and acquire continuing education credits to keep knowledge and skills up-to-date in healthcare and pharmacy

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Previous experience in a retail pharmacy or customer service environment
  • PTCB certification or state-required certification/registration
  • Knowledge of pharmacy systems and operations
