About the Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Global Merchant and Network Services (GM&NS) Pricing team. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in determining and reporting merchant discount income, driving GMS revenue and profit growth through customer-driven pricing principles, more flexible pricing architecture, and innovative pricing solutions. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Creating a Canada figure for merchant discount income and tracking monthly performance against forecast, identifying drivers of change
- Developing merchant discount income scorecards for the Canada region
- Driving standardization and process improvement among the different regional pricing teams for all reporting and forecasting related activities
- Supporting external audits, including investigating issues found, contacting the regional pricing teams that manage the merchant relationship to discuss issues, and managing resolutions
- Performing ad-hoc data analysis to assess discount rate trends and uncover insights
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 2+ years of experience in financial services or payments industry, and/or other financial roles
- A Bachelor's degree required; strongly preferred in Finance/Accounting/Business
- High proficiency with Excel is required
- Solid attention to detail and organization
- Solid analytical skills; demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models and draw value-added insights from a large amount of financial data
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SAS/SQL) is required
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
- A strong relationship with stakeholders and collaboration skills with the ability to influence others in situations where there may be multiple objectives
- Solid work ethic with an extreme will-to-win, ability to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, which puts a premium on driving results
- An innovative thinker who will challenge conventional approaches to getting things done and develop new ways to approach old challenges
- Solid project management skills with full ownership from analysis through to execution
- A customer-focused mindset; demonstrated desire to understand and address customer needs and pain points
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred:
- Experience with data analysis and financial modeling
- Knowledge of financial planning and budgeting
- Experience with project management tools and software
- Certifications in finance or accounting (e.g., CFA, CPA)
