About the Role

As a Student Loan Advisor, you will be the primary point of contact for our customers, providing them with accurate and timely information about their student loans. You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, utilizing standard technology such as telephones, email, and web browsers to navigate various systems and provide exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take incoming calls, use chat, and complete outbound calls as necessary to assist customers with answering frequent questions, providing detailed information, processing applications, and resolving emerging problems.
  • Utilize pre-scripted responses to provide basic general and claims-specific information to customers.
  • Follow established policies and standard operating procedures, including working within various systems, timekeeping, documentation, and adhering to ethics and privacy rules.
  • Assist callers with filling out their applications and submitting them electronically to plan providers for processing.
  • Complete basic call logs, documentation, and related call details for each phone inquiry.
  • Maintain excellent communication etiquette, personalize calls, and be competent in the information and assistance delivered to customers.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and coworkers. You will also need to have strong computer skills, with proficiencies in Excel and Word, and be able to navigate various systems and browsers.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to speak and read English clearly, professionally, and fluently.
  • Typing speed of at least 35 WPM.
  • Experience working with a personal computer and the Windows operating system.
  • Excellent written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of contact center technology.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent command of the English language, with effective use of grammar skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized while completing simultaneous tasks.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work within established key performance indicators/metrics.
