Position Overview
We're looking for a Data Architect Analyst with a strong background in mail processing, handling, and management to design and manage data systems that support the VA EMM program. The ideal candidate will have expertise in building scalable databases, integrating automation workflows, and ensuring compliance with mail management regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Design & Optimization:
    
- Design and maintain scalable, SQL-based databases to support mail processing operations, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
 - Optimize database performance for tracking mail volumes, costs, and delivery times.
 
 - Data Integration & Automation:
    
- Develop and implement ETL pipelines to streamline data processing.
 - Use tools like Python or PowerShell to automate data workflows for mail tracking and reporting.
 
 - Mail-Related Data Management:
    
- Manage and analyze data related to USPS, UPS, and FedEx mail logistics, ensuring compliance with federal standards.
 - Monitor and validate data quality to support decision-making for mail handling operations.
 
 - Reporting & Analytics:
    
- Build advanced analytics dashboards using Power BI to provide actionable insights into mail performance metrics.
 - Generate reports on mailroom efficiency, delivery timelines, and cost optimization.
 
 - Collaboration & Compliance:
    
- Work closely with stakeholders to design and implement data strategies aligned with mail management objectives.
 - Ensure all data systems comply with USPS regulations, 41 FMR, and other federal guidelines.
 
 
Essential Qualifications
- Mail Experience:
    
- Minimum of 3 years of specialized experience in mail processing, handling, and management (e.g., USPS, UPS, FedEx).
 - Proven ability to manage mail-related logistics data, routing workflows, and compliance requirements.
 
 - Education:
    
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (required).
 - A combination of education and mail-specific experience is acceptable.
 
 - Technical Expertise:
    
- Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and Access databases for data modeling, analysis, and visualization.
 - Experience with ETL pipelines and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for data automation.
 - Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus.
 
 - Clearance:
    
- Public Trust Clearance or ability to obtain upon hiring.
 
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, experience with data governance, data quality, and data security will be considered a plus. Additionally, knowledge of VA-specific regulations and guidelines will be beneficial.

Schedule and Work Arrangement
