Job Summary

As a DSW Store Associate, you'll be the face of our brand, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers. You'll be responsible for a variety of tasks, including salesfloor and warehouse functions, customer transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience

  • Greet every customer with a helpful and friendly approach, read customer cues, match their needs with an elevated level of service, and meet the customer where they are at.
  • Share the benefits of the DSW Loyalty program and enroll new members.
  • Answer questions regarding products and complete customer transactions through either in-store sales or digital orders.

Store Maintenance and Organization

  • Maintain a neat, clean, and safe environment for our internal and external customers.
  • Clear trash from the aisles, cash wrap, and stockroom, return shoes back to their location according to DSW standards, clean the associate breakroom and public restrooms, vacuum, clean mirrors and front walkways along with any other housekeeping items deemed necessary.
  • Receive inbound freight, prepare, and place merchandise on the sales floor per DSW standards, complete markdowns, maintain clearance standards, and organize and maintain the stockroom.

Fulfillment and Digital Services

  • Complete all functions of the fulfillment process, including locating items, inspecting condition of product, packaging and label placement ensuring readiness for pick up/delivery.
  • Use company tools to search product availability to order for the customer (e.g., iPhone, Register).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.

Customer Transactions and Accuracy

  • Complete customer transactions while following DSW's policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for accuracy in counting money and providing correct change.
  • Operate a calculator and enter data via the register keyboard.
  • Partner with the Customer Experience Leader (CEL) when customer situations and service issues escalate.
  • Follow all asset protection policies and procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Must have the availability to meet the needs of the business.
  • Professional, friendly, and customer service focused.
  • Ability to move with tempo to meet time-bound expectations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in use of technology to successfully engage in customer interactions (Register, Register Keyboard, iPhone, Calculator).
  • Must have the ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing or walking around the store.
  • Lifting, including the ability to lift up to a maximum of 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on a frequent basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous retail experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Experience with inventory management, customer service, or sales is an advantage.
