Job Summary

As a Financial Accountant with Wells Fargo, you will be responsible for performing complex financial accounting tasks, including account maintenance, financial statement preparation, and data analysis. You will work closely with senior management to provide counsel on financial accounting-related matters and contribute to the development of financial policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide counsel to senior management on financial accounting-related matters
  • Perform complex exercises related to maintaining record accounts, creating financial statements, and administrative reports
  • Accumulate and survey financial data for financial and administrative reports
  • Survey data from the general ledger, unit reports, and other financial systems to ensure accuracy
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations and confirmations
  • Investigate projects related to financial accounting policies, procedures, or systems
  • Perform ongoing financial control functions in accordance with internal control policies
  • Provide functional counsel and training to individuals
  • Offer support for compliance and risk management requirements
  • Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders throughout the organization

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, analysis, financial reporting, accounting, or risk reporting, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with SEC/administrative quarterly reporting
  • Fiserv data/understanding
  • COS-based Sarbanes-Oxley internal control evaluation implementation
  • Military experience or analysis experience, including functional management, project management, mission development management, and financial management
  • 1+ year of experience in the credit card industry, corporate/business loan products, or financial services
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Experience with transitional Essbase/SmartView, advanced Microsoft Excel with VLOOKUP/pivot tables
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP financial statements or components preparation
