Position Overview
We're looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Virtual Special Education Coordinator to oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of special education programs for students in New Hampshire. This role involves close collaboration with teachers, families, and staff to create Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), ensure compliance with relevant laws, and provide ongoing professional development to educators. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate IEP Development: Work closely with special education teachers, parents, and other team members to create, review, and update IEPs for students in virtual settings, ensuring that each plan is tailored to the student's unique needs and goals.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all special education programs are aligned with state and federal laws, including IDEA and Section 504, maintaining accurate and detailed documentation.
- Collaboration and Communication: Facilitate effective communication between school staff, parents, and external service providers to ensure that students' needs are met comprehensively.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Track student progress towards IEP goals, adjust strategies as needed, and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders to inform future educational planning.

Qualifications and Skills
Essential Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Special Education is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Certification: Current New Hampshire Special Education certification is mandatory.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in special education is required, with preference given to candidates with experience in virtual or online education.
- Knowledge of Laws: A strong understanding of IDEA, 504 Plans, and other key special education laws is essential.
- Technical Skills: Comfort with virtual platforms (such as Zoom and Google Classroom) and other educational technologies is necessary.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities are critical.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with IEP Software: Experience with IEP software and tracking systems is highly desirable.
- Leadership Experience: Experience in a leadership or coordination role within a school or district is an asset.
- Trauma-Informed Practices: Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and strategies for supporting students with behavioral needs in virtual settings is preferred.
