Job Overview
In this rewarding and challenging role, you will be responsible for planning, assessing, and instructing 4-year-old children, based on their individual needs and the requirements of the GSRP grant. You will strive to create a safe, comfortable, and engaging learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development. Our ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally-appropriate instruction for children using research-based curriculum
 - Maintain accurate student records in accordance with license renewal requirements
 - Enroll new students and help advertise the program in and beyond the community
 - Collaborate with kindergarten staff to build a connection and smooth transition for students moving out of the program the following fall
 - Enter weekly Health Reports and maintain the appropriate staff to student ratio
 - Follow all licensing guidelines related to the Great Start Readiness Program, including meeting with families on-site and keeping accurate COR notes
 - Exercise discretion and confidentiality in dealing with staff and operations
 
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education or a related field
 - One of the following: A Child Development Associate credential (CDA), an Associate of Arts in early childhood/preschool education or child development, 120 clock hours of documented formal child care education, or a four-year degree with an endorsement in early childhood education
 - Recommendation by an administrator who has supervised your work for at least one year
 - CPR and First Aid certification
 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 - Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and the community
 - Strong organizational and time management skills
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with 4-year-old children in a preschool or kindergarten setting
 - Knowledge of research-based curriculum and instructional strategies
 - Experience with student assessment and progress monitoring
 - Ability to speak multiple languages (desired but not required)
