About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher to fill an immediate opening. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of our students, promoting academic achievement and personal growth
 - Utilize a range of instructional strategies and technologies to facilitate learning, including computer technology and multimedia resources
 - Evaluate student performance through examinations, homework assignments, and other methods, providing constructive feedback and support to promote student achievement
 - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, submitting required reports and assessments to school administrators
 - Collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders to develop and implement curriculum, sharing best practices and expertise to enhance student learning
 - Participate in staff development and professional growth activities, staying current with best practices and research in math education
 - Provide guidance and support to students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
 
Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
 - A valid Substitute Teacher License registered in Lake County
 - Preferred: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with Secondary Math Endorsement
 - Excellent knowledge of core curriculum areas, including math, and specialized knowledge in certain fields
 - Strong understanding of educational philosophy, teaching methods, and currently researched best practices and strategies
 - Ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse student populations, including students with special needs
 - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and human relations skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
 
Preferred Qualifications:
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience in teaching math at the secondary level
 - Knowledge of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Response to Intervention (RtI)
 - Ability to utilize computer and multimedia technology to facilitate learning
 - Experience in developing and implementing curriculum, including lesson plans and instructional materials
 - Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
