About the Role: Math Teacher/Tutor

As a Math Teacher/Tutor at Mathnasium, you will play a vital role in helping students in grades K-12 achieve their math goals and develop a growth mindset. You will work with students to identify areas of strength and weakness, create personalized learning plans, and provide targeted instruction and support to help them succeed. Key Responsibilities:

• Teach students in grades K-12 math concepts and skills, using Mathnasium's proprietary curriculum and materials
• Assess student progress, identify areas of strength and weakness, and develop personalized learning plans
• Provide one-on-one and small group instruction, as well as homework help and test preparation
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure student success and progress
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with Mathnasium's curriculum and teaching methods
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and motivation

Requirements and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Math proficiency up to Algebra, with proficiency through Geometry and Calculus preferred
• Exceptional score on Mathnasium's Math Literacy exam (material from 2nd grade and up)
• Availability for at least 2 weekday shifts, with a minimum of 3-4 hours per shift
• Clear record on a state and national background check
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching or tutoring math to students in grades K-12
• Familiarity with Mathnasium's curriculum and teaching methods
• Knowledge of learning theories and instructional strategies that support student-centered learning
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a flexible and growth-oriented mindset

What We Offer:

Our instructors are provided with paid training to acquaint them with Mathnasium's curriculum, teaching strategies, and team teaching methods.
