The Clinical AI Team: Unlocking Insights from Clinical Data
The Clinical AI team at CVS Health is focused on activating clinical data to improve outcomes across multiple lines of business and use cases. As a Lead Data Scientist - Clinical AI, you will be a subject matter expert in clinical data and its applications. You will design, develop, validate, implement, and support predictive models and algorithms that investigate problem spaces, identify patterns, and anticipate outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Collaboration: Lead data scientists, data engineers, machine learning engineers, and product owners to design and implement analytics solutions.
- Clinical Data Expertise: Be a subject matter expert in clinical data and its applications to solve healthcare problems.
- Predictive Modeling: Design, develop, validate, implement, and support predictive models and algorithms.
- Natural Language Processing (NLP): Utilize NLP and large language models (LLMs) to extract insights and features from unstructured clinical data.
- Clinical Data Feature Store: Lead the development of the clinical data feature store to accelerate adoption of future use cases.
- Data Exploration and Analysis: Explore, validate, interpret, and summarize large amounts of data using advanced statistical and mathematical approaches.
- End-to-End Analytics Solutions: Develop end-to-end analytics solutions, from problem statements to deploying models into production.
- Communication and Collaboration: Build dashboards and data visualizations to effectively communicate analysis results and support decision-making processes.
- Documentation and Presentations: Create documentation of project details and develop presentations and consultations to existing and prospective constituents.
- Technical Coaching: Provide technical coaching and development to data scientists.
- Innovation and Collaboration: Foster a team culture of innovation and collaboration.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Analytics Experience: 7+ years of relevant analytics experience.
- Advanced Statistics and Machine Learning: Experience solving analytics problems using advanced statistics, machine learning, and mathematical algorithms.
- Leadership: Experience leading analytics projects from concept to delivery.
- NLP and LLMs: Experience using NLP, LLMs, and Generative AI (Gen AI) to extract insights from text data.
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Experience using GCP tools, including BigQuery, Vertex AI, DataProc, and Cloud Composer.
- Communication: Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare Experience: Experience solving analytics problems in the healthcare domain using clinical data.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Master's Degree: Master's degree preferred.
