Job Summary

As a Long Term Care Pharmacy Clerk - Part Time, you will play a critical role in our pharmacy team, providing exceptional customer service and support to our patients and customers. You will work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge to ensure that prescriptions are filled accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient and customer inquiries, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with various tasks, including filling prescriptions, answering phone calls, and performing administrative duties.
  • Utilize your knowledge of pharmacy operations, including dispensing, inventory management, and patient counseling.
  • Maintain accurate records, including patient profiles, medication lists, and prescription records.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive high-quality care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education, staying up-to-date on the latest pharmacy practices, regulations, and technologies.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Licensure requirements vary by state; please check with your state's Board of Pharmacy for specific requirements.
  • Attention and Focus: The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner.
  • Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with customers and colleagues.
  • Mathematical Reasoning: The ability to use math to solve a problem, such as calculating day's supply of a prescription.
  • Problem Resolution: Is able to judge when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong; recognizing there is a problem.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • PTCB National Certification.

Physical Demands

As a Long Term Care Pharmacy Clerk - Part Time, you will be required to:

  • Remain upright on your feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Move about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for moving from one work area to another.
  • Pick, pinching, typing, or otherwise work primarily with fingers rather than whole hand or arm.
  • Extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
  • Stoop to a considerable degree and require full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
