Job Overview
We're seeking experienced 21st Century and Community Learning Program Teachers to work with students in a part-time capacity, supporting academic and enrichment activities. As a teacher with WorkWARP, you'll be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing engaging lesson plans that promote student participation, positive group interactions, and academic success
- Providing individualized support to students, focusing on academic strategies, social-emotional learning, and leadership development
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement program activities that foster student connectedness and community engagement
- Collecting and analyzing data to inform instruction and program development
- Participating in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in education
Key Responsibilities
As a 21st Century and Community Learning Program Teacher with WorkWARP, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and actively engaging in activities for planning and implementation of a school year program to improve student connectedness to the school and support academic strategies for success around student and school data
- Providing instructional, SEL, and leadership strategies as instructed
- Participating in program development that would promote student participation, positive group interactions, and academic success
- Providing student support for school orientation, expectations, study skills, educational and personal goal setting, responses to authority, and personal leadership
- Supporting the collection of data for attendance, behavioral, SEL, and student incentives
- Participating in field trip and daily programming to support student safety
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Certification in Education (preferred)
- Previous experience working with 21st Century Programming or After School Student Learning Programs (preferred)
- Experience with tutoring or teaching middle school students (preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
