Job Summary
As a Classroom Tutor, you will provide academic development support to students in small groups or one-on-one settings, working closely with classroom teachers to develop and implement effective strategies for supporting disadvantaged students. Your primary goal will be to help students meet the goals of our district's curriculum, while also developing your own skills and knowledge in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted academic support to students in small groups or one-on-one settings, focusing on areas such as math, reading, English, social studies, and science
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement effective strategies for supporting disadvantaged students
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and implement plans to support student learning
- Develop and deliver academic programs for students, working as part of a team to ensure a comprehensive and supportive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents, using strong oral and written communication skills in English
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of the ParaProfessional Assessment (or the ability to pass the assessment within four months of hire)
- An associate's degree or higher
- Completion of two years of higher education (at least 48 semester hours) or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Work experience demonstrating an ability to maintain accurate records and implement plans
- Knowledge of high school level math, reading, English, social studies, and science
- Proven proficiency in oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to relate and work successfully with students and adults, and ability to work as a team in developing and delivering academic programs for students

Compensation and Benefits
