About Our District and Program

The program runs from August to March, with classes held on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Job Summary

We are looking for a certified teacher with a strong background in teaching English to speakers of other languages. As an Evening Study Center teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons to adult learners in a virtual or face-to-face setting. This is a part-time, remote opportunity with a competitive hourly rate of $20 for training and $30 for teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of adult learners, promoting student engagement and language acquisition.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to take risks and build confidence in their language skills.
  • Utilize best practices in online and face-to-face instruction, incorporating technology and multimedia resources to enhance the learning experience.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instruction to meet the needs of learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness and student success.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and program evaluation.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Certified teacher with three (3) or more years of teaching experience.
  • Bilingual certification or ESL Endorsement.
  • Prior experience teaching English to speakers of other languages.
  • Strong knowledge of principles for adult learning and instructional best practices.
  • Flexible teaching style, with the ability to be open-minded, patient, and encouraging.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with online learning platforms and technology.
