Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to serve as a full-time Librarian / GED Tutor at our Santee Campus. As a Librarian / GED Tutor, you will be responsible for providing library services, teaching virtual GED classes, and supporting student success. This is a grant-funded position that will end in September 2023, contingent on other funding sources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with textbook orders and distribution each term
  • Maintain up-to-date inventory and online catalog of books in the library
  • Support Student Services team members with registration and book disbursement
  • Teach virtual GED classes and monitor online classes
  • Assist with marketing events and occasional cleaning and setup of campus rooms for events
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Media or Education required
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Familiarity with "Essential Education-GED Academy/TABE" resources preferred
  • Cultural competence in serving Indigenous students and/or other minoritized populations preferred
  • High energy and positive attitude to effectively serve students and assist with customer service

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online learning platforms
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness of diverse student needs
