Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Virtual Algebra I Tutor to join our team of dedicated educators. As a Virtual Algebra I Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their academic journey, providing guidance, and helping them develop a deeper understanding of algebra concepts. Key Responsibilities
- Indicate your availability to tutor, without minimum or maximum requirements, to ensure a consistent schedule for students.
 - Complete curriculum reviews for the lesson content you would like to use in sessions, ensuring that you are well-prepared to support students.
 - Tutor students virtually in a 1:1 - 1:3 setting, using online virtual tools and technology to facilitate engaging and effective learning experiences.
 - Build relationships with students located across the United States, providing personalized support and guidance to help them achieve their academic goals.
 - Review provided lesson content materials and adapt your teaching approach to meet the needs of individual students.
 - Impact a student's learning experience by providing high-quality tutoring support and guidance.
 
Requirements
To be successful as a Virtual Algebra I Tutor, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Relevant Experience: You should have relevant experience working with school-age learners in some capacity, such as teaching, tutoring, or mentoring.
 - Consistent Calendar Availability: You must have a relatively consistent calendar availability that will support a session series from week to week at the same time with the same student(s) in this Littera high-impact tutoring program.
 - Algebra Knowledge: You should have a confident knowledge of at least one of the following: algebra I, algebra II, geometry, or pre-algebra.
 - Communication and Interpersonal Skills: You must be able to effectively instruct and engage students with clear communication and interpersonal skills.
 - Technical Skills: You should have a high comfort level with online virtual tools and technology, including a desktop or laptop using the Chrome browser, a video camera, and a reliable/stable internet connection.
 - Residency: You must reside in New York, and United States residency is required.
 - Education: A bachelor's degree is preferred, but college students are welcome to apply with 1+ years of relevant experience.

What to Expect
As a Virtual Algebra I Tutor with Littera Education, you can expect the following:
- Initial Application Process: You will need to submit your application, complete a 2-minute video reply sharing your experience with math or algebra, and attend a virtual mock appointment with a 5-minute tutoring demonstration.
 - Tutor Agreement and Background Check: You will be required to review and sign the Tutor Agreement, consent to, and pass a background check.
 - Fingerprinting: Tutors who receive an offer will be asked to successfully complete fingerprinting forms and schedule an in-person fingerprinting appointment within ten days of signing their tutor agreement.
 - Session Scheduling: You will set your availability in your tutor dashboard, and sessions will be offered at Littera Monday to Friday, with session times generally between 8am ET to 9pm ET.
