Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Medical Transcriptionist to join our team in a remote capacity. Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe and edit recorded material, including patient histories and physicals, consult letters and notes, physician correspondence, x-ray reports, and other relevant documents.
 - Verify the accuracy of patient information, such as name, identification number, and other essential details.
 - Match complaints to diagnoses using medical records, ensuring that reports are accurate and up-to-date for every date of service transcribed.
 - Verify the accuracy of transcription for correct punctuation, grammar, and spelling, maintaining the highest standards of quality.
 - Research relevant reference materials to correct dictated language into concise, accurate, and understandable text.
 - Inform the Team Lead of any questions or inconsistencies in the dictated language that require assistance with correction.
 - Flag charts that are dictated in the incorrect pool for the supervisor's attention, ensuring that they are moved to the proper pool.
 - Send demographic information regarding flagged dictations to the Transcription Assistant for resolution by the dictator(s).
 - Meet the minimum daily line requirements as directed, maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency.
 
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you'll need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- A high school diploma is required; formal training through an accredited transcription program is preferred.
 - Five or more years of experience as a medical transcriptionist in a hospital, urgent care facility, or medical specialty is preferred.
 - Knowledge of medical transcription guidelines and practices is essential.
 - Excellent skills in English usage, grammar, punctuation, and style are required.
 - Ability to use an extensive array of professional reference materials is necessary.
 - Ability to operate word processing equipment, dictation and transcription equipment, and other specified equipment is required.
 - Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision is essential.
 - Proficiency in a variety of Microsoft applications and software products, as well as transcription-specific software products, is necessary.
 - Ability to concentrate and work under pressure with no time constraints is required.
 - Ability to sit for extended periods of time is necessary.
 - Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. is required.
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Medical candidates with at least 1-2 years of experience in a physician's office or hospital setting are preferred.
