As a key member of the customer service team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of patient data entry, resolving third-party rejects, and providing exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.

About the Role

The Customer Service Representative role is a part-time remote position that requires 8 hours of work per week. As a Part Time Remote Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for processing new patient enrollment, handling patient prescription requests, and resolving data entry-related exceptions. You will also be required to communicate effectively with patients, prescribers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and provide excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize Walgreens' prescription data entry methods and guidelines to process new patient enrollment by entering data into the appropriate system.
  • Handle patient prescription requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter refill orders for processing.
  • Research and obtain missing prescription information, interpret clinical abbreviations (SIG codes), and resolve all data entry-related exceptions.
  • Handle correspondence to patients (inbound calls, chats, emails) and make outbound calls to prescribers and patients on a case-by-case basis.
  • Resolve third-party rejects by researching, gathering information, making corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to individual claim requirements.
  • Provide assistance to pharmacists, both in-office and at other locations, and identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate.
  • Obtain and maintain an active certification or licensure within the first 90 days of employment and keep it active throughout the duration of employment.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Basic level PC skills, including the ability to start and shut down a PC, use a mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents, and access data online.
  • Basic web browsing skills, including the ability to open a browser, type in URLs in the correct location, use a search engine, bookmark a webpage, navigate using back/forward/stop buttons, and complete forms online.
  • Intermediate level keyboarding skills, with a minimum typing speed of 25 WPM, typing by memory, and formatting documents.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

The following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:

  • At least one year of pharmacy specialist experience in a retail or call center environment.
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and assessing customer satisfaction.
  • Intermediate to advanced level keyboarding skills, with a minimum typing speed of 35 WPM, typing by memory, and formatting documents.
  • Proficiency in both Spanish and English.

Compensation

The hourly salary for this part-time remote position is $23 per hour.
