Job Summary
As a Data Scientist at Amazon, you will be responsible for driving business transformation in the Ability Securing (TA) space. You will work closely with stakeholders to define business processes, provide analytical support, and develop data-driven solutions to complex business problems. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing data pipelines, analyzing complex datasets, and creating data visualizations to inform business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including software engineers, and business leaders to define business processes and provide analytical support
- Influence code to investigate complex datasets and design, develop, and evaluate data changes to solve specific business problems
- Build scalable, efficient, and automated data pipelines to facilitate client-facing reporting
- Automate TA processes to streamline business operations
- Communicate verbally or in writing to business clients/leadership to share insights and recommendations
- Develop and maintain large-scale data systems, including data warehousing and business intelligence solutions
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science
- 3+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/numerical programming (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab)
- 3+ years of experience with machine learning/statistical modeling, data analysis tools and techniques, and metrics that influence their performance
- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree in a quantitative field, such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science
- Experience in a machine learning or data scientist role with a large technology organization
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
