Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative at FLEXcon, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, responding to their inquiries, and resolving any issues that may arise. You will work closely with our customers, technical service team, sales team, distribution centers, manufacturing, purchasing, and credit team to ensure that all customer needs are met. Your primary goal will be to maintain and grow our business at existing and new accounts while providing a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries received by phone, email, and fax, and document interactions in Salesforce.
  • Recommend, quote, sample, and sell VBS products to customers.
  • Document opportunities where VBS products do not meet customer requirements and validate the economic sense of pursuing custom construction via established FLEXcon guidelines.
  • Professionally transfer customers to FLEXcon's technical community for further discussion.
  • Manage all aspects of order fulfillment, from receipt of order to delivery and invoicing.
  • Enter new orders, verify accuracy against documented procedures, and process order changes and cancellations.
  • Recommend alternative product constructions if required.
  • Monitor open work orders and expedite as needed.
  • Proactively notify customers of late or problem orders and provide VBS product alternatives to assist customers.
  • Resolve customer-specific freight and logistics issues/questions through consultation with FLEXcon's Shipping Departments.
  • Use the E-price tool to support customer inquiries, including VBS product recommendations, price quotes, price discounting, application sheets, product sampling, and trial orders.
  • Resolve information-related customer complaints and implement corrective action.
  • Confirm resolution and corrective action to customers via established FLEXcon guidelines.
  • Review complaint instances and corrective actions with colleagues to prevent recurrence.
  • Handle complaints for pricing mistakes, order entry errors, and customer accommodations.
  • Proactively engage selected assigned accounts by initiating phone and/or email contact to better understand business applications in which FLEXcon participates.
  • Assist with order entry overflow for repeat orders.
  • Assist with standard price quotations overflow.
  • Enter new customer information.
  • Contribute to Customer Service Improvement Teams as required.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience.
  • 2-3 years of previous customer service experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and experience using an ERP system highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and troubleshoot problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborative team spirit and adaptability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel).
  • Experience using Salesforce.com a plus.
