Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction to students identified as needing Tier One or Tier Two SRBI interventions, focusing on reading and writing improvement.
  • Implement research-based interventions with targeted students, tailoring lessons to meet their specific needs and learning styles.
  • Administer screening and diagnostic assessments to identify areas of improvement and inform instruction.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with classroom teachers, collaborating to analyze progress monitoring data and inform instruction.
  • Peer coach other teachers in reading/writing systems, strategies, and procedures, providing modeling, co-teaching, observing, and feedback as needed.
  • Assist teachers in planning and pacing lessons, developing differentiated instruction, and selecting best practices to meet student needs.
  • Provide technical support to teacher teams and create an articulated schedule with building administrators.
  • Demonstrate expertise in providing research-based interventions through virtual learning environments.
  • Maintain accurate logs and student records, providing regular reports and feedback to parents and administrators.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's Degree in a relevant field and Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts endorsement (Grades 1-12).
  • A minimum of five years of exemplary teaching experience at multiple grade levels, with a strong track record of improving student reading and writing proficiencies.
  • Strong knowledge of research-based programs and practices in reading and writing instruction.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Google Classroom.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, organization, and planning skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory and prior experience as a Reading teacher.
  • Ability to speak Spanish.
  • Experience with virtual learning environments and online instruction.
