Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one, small-group, or drop-in tutoring to students in a lab environment, answering their math-related questions and offering learning assistance.
- Proctor exams and quizzes online and/or onsite, ensuring the integrity of the assessment process.
- Grade exams and assign partial credit where necessary, providing constructive feedback to students.
- Maintain a reliable schedule and inform the Coordinator at least 24 hours in advance of any changes or absences.
- Assist with additional duties as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the team.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at FAU.
- A minimum of six credit hours (or twelve if international) completed.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- Completion of the course(s) being tutored with a grade of at least A-.
- A recommendation from the instructor of each course being tutored.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- An overall GPA of 3.25 or higher.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to relate to people from diverse educational, cultural, and social backgrounds.
- A high level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
- Strong mathematical knowledge and a passion for teaching others.
