The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. is a pioneering organization dedicated to providing high-quality, high-dosage tutoring for pre-K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Instructional Coach to join our team as a School Year Instructional Coach in Edgewater Park, NJ.
About Our Organization and the Role
As an Instructional Coach with the New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc., you will play a pivotal role in overseeing tutor performance, providing guidance, and ensuring that our scholars receive the best possible instruction. Our program is designed to work closely with community-based organizations in high-need communities, and we are committed to making a meaningful impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching, instructional coaching, and a passion for working with students and tutors alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Site Coordinator to develop strong relationships with site staff and the community, as needed.
 - Ensure tutors utilize high-quality resources and data-driven instruction to help scholars succeed.
 - Observe tutoring sessions and provide constructive feedback to tutors to enhance their performance.
 - Participate in bi-weekly meetings with other coaches and work closely with program staff to share best practices and address challenges.
 - Promptly apprise the program leadership team of any issues and collaborate to resolve them.
 - Work with the Site Coordinator to review tutor performance and provide guidance as necessary.
 - Fill in for tutors when substitutes are not available, ensuring continuity of instruction.
 
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
 - Possess a standard certificate, certificate of eligibility (CE), or certificate of eligibility with advanced standing (CEAS).
 - Have experience in teaching and a proven track record of instructional coaching.
 - Be able to undergo a background check for I9 status to work in the United States, including a criminal history check (fingerprints) or provide a fingerprint certificate if the check is already in place.
 - Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
 - Have reliable transportation to and from work sites.
 - Meet COVID-19 requirements, including proof of vaccination and adherence to mask rules while indoors.
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning.
 - Familiarity with the implementation of the Danielson Framework.
 - Excellent written and communication skills, particularly in providing constructive feedback.

Location and Schedule
