About the Role

As a Part Time Phlebotomist / Medical Screener, you will play a vital role in our Plasma Donation Centers, working closely with our donors to ensure their safety and comfort while collecting high-quality plasma that will become life-changing medicines. You will be responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures, screening new and repeat donors, and maintaining accurate records. Your commitment to customer service and quality will be essential in this role, and you will be expected to work a variety of shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and greet donors, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the donation process
  • Screen new and repeat donors, taking and recording vital signs and finger stick results
  • Use our Donor Information System to prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation
  • Identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company-approved procedures
  • Work collaboratively with the Plasma Center Manager and other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the center

What You Bring to Takeda

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong and diverse skillset, including:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees
  • Ability to lift up to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
  • Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance
  • 1 or more years of minimum experience working in a customer or patient-facing role is helpful

Essential Qualifications

In addition to the above requirements, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also need to be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working in a medical or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of phlebotomy procedures and protocols
  • Certification as a phlebotomist or medical screener
