Key Responsibilities:

As a Virtual Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support our team of attorneys and advocates. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting attorneys with legal research and document preparation, including drafting contracts and other legal documents
  • Reviewing and transcribing legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards
  • Managing case files using Clio software to ensure efficient document organization
  • Providing executive administrative support, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars
  • Conducting thorough document reviews to identify relevant information for cases
  • Maintaining communication with clients and providing updates on case status as needed
  • Supporting the team in various tasks related to special education law, including Patent law and Securities law

Requirements and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a law office setting (preferred but not required)
  • Familiarity with Clio or similar document management systems (a plus)
  • Strong skills in legal research and writing
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with contract drafting and review
  • Familiarity with laws relating to disabilities, such as the IDEA and Section 504

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all legal documents and communications
  • Proficiency in Clio software or similar document management systems
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
