The Role: Peripatetic Criminal Justice Worker

As a Peripatetic Criminal Justice Worker, you'll play a vital role in assessing and engaging with our service users, ensuring they access the right interventions at the right time. You'll work closely with our partners, including HM Probation Service, Courts, Prisons, and Police, to manage individuals subject to ATR and DRR Court Orders. Your goal will be to deliver psychosocial interventions that reduce disengagement, harm, and associated criminality, while promoting recovery, resilience, and social reintegration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and engage with service users to determine their needs and develop personalized recovery plans.
  • Deliver psychosocial interventions to reduce disengagement, harm, and associated criminality.
  • Provide screening, assessment, and recovery planning, as well as onward referral to relevant services.
  • Reduce drug and alcohol-related harm to service users and the wider community.
  • Promote carer, service user, and community involvement in our services.
  • Provide advocacy for access to partnership services and support social (re)integration.
  • Work with service users to support their recovery, resilience, and peer support.
  • Travel across Norfolk County to engage with service users and provide support.

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Peripatetic Criminal Justice Worker with a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field. You should be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, with good IT skills and the ability to work proactively and manage your time effectively.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • A strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good IT skills and ability to work proactively with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice.
  • Ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage change successfully.
  • Understanding of information governance processes and commitment to following and applying necessary safeguards.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience of working within the criminal justice system.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial interventions and recovery-oriented practice.
  • Experience of working with diverse populations and communities.
