Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Principal Engineer - Outside Plant to oversee the design, engineering, and construction of outside plant telecom networks. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with other engineers, contractors, and external vendors to ensure projects are completed on-time and within budget. If you have an in-depth understanding of outside plant engineering, telecom network deployment, and applicable industry standards, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the design, engineering, and construction of outside plant telecom networks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Collaborate with other engineers, contractors, and external vendors to ensure projects are completed on-time and within budget
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with external vendors and contractors, negotiating contracts and agreements as needed
• Ensure all projects are completed according to applicable industry standards, including safety regulations and quality control measures
• Monitor project progress, providing feedback and guidance to ensure projects are completed on-time and within budget
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective outside plant engineering operations
• Review and analyze existing outside plant engineering operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, sharing knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles
• Ensure safety regulations are followed at all times, promoting a culture of safety and well-being within the team

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in outside plant engineering, telecom network deployment, or a related field
• In-depth understanding of outside plant engineering, telecom network deployment, and applicable industry standards
• Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions
• Experience with project management tools and software, including MS Project, Asana, and Trello

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
• Additional certifications in outside plant engineering, telecom network deployment, or a related field
• Experience with agile project management methodologies and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with cloud-based technologies and software-defined networking
• Experience with budgeting and cost management, including financial planning and analysis
