Google is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Engineer to join its Manufacturing Operations team, responsible for delivering the manufacturing capability to deploy the company's cutting-edge hardware infrastructure. As a Product Engineer, you will play a critical role in evaluating product designs, creating processes, tools, and methodologies behind Google's robust search technology, and ensuring that the various components of Google's infrastructure fit together seamlessly.

About the Role

The Manufacturing Operations team is responsible for providing the manufacturing capability to deliver Google's state-of-the-art physical infrastructure. As a Product Engineer, you will work closely with Product Managers and Design Architects to determine Google's infrastructure needs and product specifications. Your work will ensure that the manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled, and that the final products meet the required quality and reliability standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead reviews between Design and Manufacturing Engineering to drive requirements that are critical to executing Design For Excellence (DFX) and test strategy.
  • Ensure plant readiness, support manufacturing line ramp, provide product investigation training, and gather feedback on form issues. Manage the bone pile and drive yield detraction analysis to improve product quality.
  • Work with the Product team to highlight risks and develop mitigation plans. Collaborate with Quality Engineers to establish product quality and reliability targets. Validate product qualification plans, support reliability testing, and review results to ensure product performance meets requirements.
  • Coordinate release of New Product Introduction (NPI) Bill of Materials (BOMs) into Product Data Management (PDM) system. Support second source part qualification and release of ECOs and MCOs.

Essential Qualifications

  • Four-year certification in Electrical Designing or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a company creating supply chains in manufacturing and testing.
  • Experience working with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), contract manufacturers, and part suppliers for data center server type products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), Contract Manufacturers (CMs), and part suppliers for data center class server accelerator items (e.g., GPU, FPGA, or ASIC).
  • Experience creating and executing a design validation test plan for a complex electronic assembly.
  • Understanding of ASIC DFT and ATE test processes, and post-silicon validation.
  • Knowledge of SQL queries and scripting in Python or Perl.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent technical skills, including a strong understanding of electrical design and manufacturing processes. You will also need to have excellent communication and collaboration skills, as you will be working closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Design Architects, and Quality Engineers.
