Job Overview

As a Remote Call Center Representative - Data Entry Specialist at Walgreens, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently entering patient information into the company's systems, handling patient prescription requests, and resolving data entry-related exceptions. You will also provide support to pharmacists, both in-office and remote, and communicate with patients, prescribers, and insurers to resolve issues and obtain necessary information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize Walgreens' data entry guidelines and procedures to process new patient enrollments by entering information into the appropriate systems.
  • Handle patient prescription requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter refill orders for processing.
  • Research and obtain missing prescription information, and interpret clinical abbreviations (SIG codes).
  • Resolve all data entry-related exceptions, including Outsider Oddballs, by investigating, gathering information, making adjustments, and resubmitting for processing.
  • Handle inbound and outbound communications with patients, prescribers, and insurers to resolve issues and obtain necessary information.
  • Provide support to pharmacists, both in-office and remote, and identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as needed.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic level PC skills, including the ability to start and shut down a computer, use a mouse, and access information online.
  • Basic web navigation skills, including the ability to open a browser, type in URLs, and complete online forms.
  • Intermediate-level keyboarding skills (at least 25 WPM, typing by memory, and formatting documents).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered a plus:

  • At least 1 year of pharmacy specialist experience in a retail or call center environment.
  • A minimum of 1.5 years as a pharmacy specialist with certification/registration by the State Board for Pharmacy or a widely recognized certification agency.
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and assessing customer satisfaction.
  • Intermediate to advanced-level keyboarding skills (at least 35 WPM, typing by memory, and formatting documents).
  • Proficiency in both Spanish and English.
