About the Role
We're seeking an Insurance Customer Service Representative I to join our team in a fully remote capacity. As a trainee position, you'll work under direct supervision to develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in our Insurance Customer Service role. You'll play a critical role in supporting our members with their insurance needs, processing various types of incoming insurance mail, and assisting with day-to-day servicing of property/casualty lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming phone calls to process address change requests, claim-related calls, and payments, while learning to counsel clients on procedural matters affecting claims.
- Handle incoming calls from upset insureds, advise clients of options available to them in pursuing a claim, and elevate complex questions to the next level of customer service authority.
- Process discounts received through email or mail, using judgment to apply effective dates and ensure proper documentation.
- Assist CSR II and Lead CSR in researching premium differences, obtaining information from master files, selling agents, and insurance companies to resolve discrepancies.
- Develop an understanding of the theory of rating, contact insureds to explain premium differences, and adhere to AAA's Five Diamond Advanced Plus service standards.
- Learn all aspects of the Insurance Customer Service function, develop strong computer skills utilizing insurance software and the Microsoft Office platform, and complete familiarization with Insurance Agency's policies and procedures.
- Process returned mail received from insureds and insurance companies, striving to obtain working knowledge of impacts of errors and correct errors in a timely and effective manner.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED Required: A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this role.
- Experience Required: Experience in a customer service environment is preferred, but not required. We'll provide training and support to help you develop the skills needed to succeed.
Licenses and Certifications
- P&C License Required within Two Years: You'll be required to obtain a Property and Casualty (P&C) license within two years of job entry.
