Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise and leadership to a team of engineers, driving the development of high-performance Observability systems and solutions.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with directors and stakeholders to address project dependencies, negotiate delivery dates, and ensure timely project completion.
  • Team Management: Cultivate a culture of trust, motivation, and continuous learning within the team, and identify areas for skill development and growth.
  • Observability and Reliability Engineering: Drive the development of multi-cloud infrastructure, leveraging open-source technologies and expertise in Observability tools such as Prometheus and LGTM stack.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with product teams to understand their pain points and develop strategies to address recurring issues, and report on team progress and key metrics.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and best practices, and drive the adoption of new technologies and solutions.
  • Mentorship and Development: Build and mentor a team of Site Reliability Engineers, and contribute to the development of associate-level proposals and ideas.

Essential Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in Python, Golang, or Java, with a focus on building high-throughput distributed systems, and experience with RESTful Services.
  • Cloud and Containerization: Expertise in Unix, Container Orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), container runtimes, and optimization, with experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Observability and Reliability Engineering: Strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps principles, with experience in Open-source Observability tools and Columnar data stores.
  • Leadership and Management: Proven experience in leading engineering teams, with a strong track record of managing and growing high-performance teams.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Automation: 2+ years of experience with automation tools and technologies.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in Project Management and work item management tools such as Azure DevOps and Portfolio.
  • UI/UX and Prototype Design: Basic knowledge and experience in UI/UX and prototype design.
