As part of this endeavor, the Enterprise Solutions (ES) team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Manager, Retail Order to lead the development of a robust and flexible order data model, replacing existing legacy systems and driving the integration of a new order management system into commercial and operational platforms.
About the Role
As a Senior Product Manager, Retail Order, you will play a pivotal role in defining the vision and roadmap for creating a new retailing order management product for Delta. You will work closely with agile development teams, stakeholders across the enterprise, and IT development teams to ensure the successful execution of the product roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as product manager for agile development teams, driving the delivery of short-term initiatives while building future-state enterprise capabilities.
- Define a vision and roadmap for creating a new retailing order management product for Delta, balancing business value, timing needs, and development complexity.
- Partner with stakeholders across the enterprise to drive input on requirements and communicate progress against development roadmap.
- Manage the transition to a new order management system without interrupting existing critical business functions.
- Ensure IT development properly leverages backend mechanisms and achieves desired business goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business needs, and develop solutions that meet customer requirements.
What You Need to Succeed
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of five years of experience in airline, retail technology, or equivalent, with a strong understanding of product management principles.
- Experience translating business vision into written technical requirements.
- The ability to manage multiple projects with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- A results-driven approach, with the ability to prioritize competing interests and seemingly disparate goals.
- Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to quantify problems, identify trade-offs, and develop solutions.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a timely, accurate, and effective manner.
- A commitment to safety and security, with a focus on prioritizing the well-being of self and others.
- A high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency, and authorization to work in the United States.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge
To stand out in this role, you will benefit from:
- A BA/BS or advanced degree in a process or project management discipline, such as Business Administration or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience in building or leading data design in a Retail capacity.
- Relevant working experience in Retail Order Management, Booking, Ticketing, Business Intelligence, and Data Analytics.
- PNR, Order, Booking, and/or Ticketing knowledge.
- Experience in at least one commercial or operations function, such as Reservations, Airport Customer Service, eCommerce, Revenue Management, or Sales.
- Knowledge of revenue management theory or airline systems/data.
- Experience working in an Agile environment as a Product Manager/Owner.
