DBT's use of commercial and custom software technologies is essential to its production operations and workflows. As a Senior Real Time Pipeline Engineer, you will be responsible for automating production application processes, mainly supporting the production Unreal Engine/Perforce pipeline used by DBT to produce its digital production products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product developers to ensure new features have proper operational support and maintainability, providing deep back-of-house technical guidance to development teams.
  • Implement complex solutions to provide hosting services and platforms to various development teams, driving the standardization and operational support of infrastructure solutions.
  • Create, build, and deliver new technologies or platforms, including consultation, designing, building, and supporting development pipelines, automating infrastructure and operations, creating telemetry for monitoring, engineering high reliability, and reinforcing best practices.
  • Design, deploy, and support CI/CD pipelines, delivering cloud-native and in-house infrastructure solutions for a wide range of applications.
  • Migrate applications from manual code push to automated/continuous deployments and between local and cloud platform deployments as needed.
  • Manage, configure, and implement automation tools such as Terraform, Helm, GitLab, and Kubernetes.
  • Develop software for automating, monitoring, and maintaining deployed infrastructure and services.
  • Generate reports and statistics for various systems using analytical tools and automate and support physical and virtual environments for web and application servers.
  • Participate in researching, testing, and implementing optimized technical solutions for production technology infrastructure and user base.
  • Provide 3rd-tier, extended support to Systems Engineering, Support Engineering, and Software Development groups.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with building pipelines for distributing Unreal Game Engine across an organization and deploying in a live-action and/or production environment.
  • Experience with Perforce at an administrative level.
  • 5+ years' experience supporting Linux/UNIX, Mac OS, and Microsoft Windows-based systems.
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages for Web App Development (Python, PHP, PowerShell, React, Rust, bash, etc.).
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud management services (AWS, Azure, or Google GCP).
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Docker) automation and configuration management tools such as Puppet, Terraform, and/or equivalent products.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, etc.) and containerization/orchestration tools (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-critical environment and communicate technical information effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with creative applications such as Unreal Engine, Perforce, ToonBoom, AutoDesk Maya, and Nuke.
  • Knowledge of pipeline automation and render farm management/cloud rendering services (AWS Deadline).
  • Experience maintaining and distributing custom Unreal Engine builds through Unreal Game Sync (UGS) or other package management systems.
  • Experience with MySQL and SQL databases.
  • Previous work experience in a similar discipline (Automation Engineer, Full Stack Engineer).
  • Experience working with network administration utilities and supporting high-end servers and graphics workstation hardware.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

The Walt Disney Company offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $136,000 to $182,500 per year, depending on location and experience.
