About the Role
As the Team Manager - Social Care, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with relevant legal frameworks, guidance, policy, and procedure to promote and ensure wellbeing, independence, and safety. You will provide leadership, management, and support to the team, ensuring performance and quality standards are met. Your expertise and experience will be instrumental in delivering a culture of partnership and collaborative working with all partners, including healthcare professionals, social workers, and community organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Holding a small case load of patients with complex mental health and social care needs, providing personalized support and guidance to ensure their well-being and safety.
- Supporting Mental Health Practitioners in the team who care manage, offering expert advice and supervision to ensure the highest standards of care.
- Evaluating and signing off forum applications and manager tasks within the mosaic workflow, ensuring efficient and effective case management.
- Serving as the Safeguarding Lead and SAM, attending Care Quality Meetings, and leading on SAR training to the team, promoting a culture of safeguarding and protection.
- Providing safeguarding updates, including the cautions list at the monthly team business meeting, ensuring that all team members are informed and equipped to respond to potential risks.
- Supporting cases for court under DOLS, working collaboratively with legal professionals and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.
- Providing supervision to 2 ASYE social workers and 2 dementia care advisors within the team, offering guidance, support, and development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Supporting the social care admin support with mosaic issues, ensuring that administrative tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Undertaking duties delegated by the service manager, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in response to changing priorities and needs.
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a recognized professional social work qualification, such as a degree in social work or a related field. Previous management or senior practitioner responsibility is essential, as is experience of working in a mental health setting. Desirable qualifications and experience include:
- A postgraduate qualification in social work or a related field, such as a master's degree in social work or a related discipline.
- Previous experience of working in a leadership or management role, with a proven track record of success in leading and managing teams.
- Knowledge of relevant legal, national, and policy frameworks, including the Mental Health Act, the Care Act, and the Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults framework.
- Experience of working with vulnerable adults, including older adults, people with dementia, and those with complex mental health needs.
