Job Summary and Key Responsibilities

As a Ticket and Gate Agent at Delta Air Lines, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, handling ticketing and baggage check-in, and ensuring a smooth boarding process for our passengers. This is an entry-level position, and our leaders are committed to providing mentorship and support to help you advance your career. Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Owning the check-in process, boarding process, and seat availability, including making gate announcements and ensuring customers have the accurate travel documentation.
  • Tagging and lifting baggage from scales to conveyor belts, with some bags weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • Operating loading bridges and opening, closing, and securing aircraft doors.
  • Escorting unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and resolving any issues or concerns that may arise during the travel process.

Scheduling and Work Environment

As a Ticket and Gate Agent, you will work a variety of shifts, including early morning, evening, and overnight shifts, based on operational needs. You will work between 20 and 40 hours per week, depending on your seniority. Our Syracuse Airport location offers a flexible, hybrid remote work arrangement, allowing you to work from home or in the office. Compensation and Benefits

At Delta Air Lines, we offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes:

  • Competitive salary: $19.00 per hour, with regular pay increases through 10.5 years.

What You Need to Succeed

To be successful as a Ticket and Gate Agent at Delta Air Lines, you will need:

  • A high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Proficiency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic digital literacy and ability to use computer systems and software.
  • Ability to pass a physical ability test (PAT) and a Customer Service Assessment.
  • Ability to hold airport-specific requirements, such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal.
