About the Role: United Health Group Remote Credentialing Representative

We're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented professional to fill the role of United Health Group Remote Credentialing Representative. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for processing provider applications, conducting primary source verifications, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a unique opportunity to work independently in a remote setting, utilizing your skills and expertise to make a positive impact on the lives of millions of people.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process provider applications, including mailing, reviewing against established criteria, primary source verifications, and loading into Salesforce and database tracking systems.
  • Notify providers of credentialing review process outcomes, including options for reconsideration.
  • Apply knowledge and skills to a range of moderately complex activities, demonstrating great depth of knowledge and skills in own function.
  • Act as a technical resource to others, providing credentialing support and subject matter expertise to internal operations teams.
  • Plan, prioritize, organize, and complete work to meet established objectives, working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Perform outreach via phone, fax, and email to obtain missing information needed to complete provider credentialing files.
  • Other duties, as assigned, to support the achievement of team goals and objectives.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher) required.
  • 1+ year of experience in provider credentialing or within provider services.
  • 1+ year of experience in a healthcare or corporate environment.
  • 1+ year of data entry experience.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Currently works within the PDO (Provider Data Operations) org.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in researching and applying government regulatory information.
  • Experience working with compliance workflows and processes.
  • 1+ years of healthcare provider or Home and Community Based Services credentialing experience.
  • Proficient at utilizing multiple claims screens to compare provider data already in the system with that of the request.
