Job Summary

We're seeking an exceptional Activities Director - Salus Coach to join our team! As a Salus Coach, you'll be responsible for maintaining and organizing a diversified program of individual and group activities that cater to the cultural, spiritual, physical, social, and intellectual needs of our residents. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive activity program that meets the diverse needs of our residents, including cultural, spiritual, physical, social, and intellectual activities.
  • Conduct quarterly resident surveys to evaluate current activities and suggest new ones that align with their interests and preferences.
  • Prepare a Schedule of Activities one month in advance, reviewing and amending it as necessary to reflect changes.
  • Possess computer skills to create calendars online/electronically and maintain accurate records of resident activities.
  • Drive the van for outings and events, ensuring the safe transportation of residents.
  • Maintain a Resident Birthday List and mail birthday cards to residents in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with community team members to coordinate activities/programs and participate in care planning for residents.
  • Post the current monthly, weekly, and daily Schedule of Activities in public areas and at the nursing station.
  • Attend monthly resident meetings with the General Manager and work on proposed agendas.
  • Manage team members and volunteers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Participate in budgeting and meet monthly budget targets, discussing any variances with the General Manager.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university, or proof of satisfactory completion of two years of college, with a major course of study in recreation or a related field.
  • Two years of full-time experience in the recreation field, preferably in a senior adult population.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Basic typing skills and computer knowledge, including familiarity with MS Word and other pertinent software.
  • Physically able to bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 40-50 pounds if necessary.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods.
  • State driver's license required with a clean driving record.
