Fresenius Medical Care North America, a leading provider of healthcare services, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Payment Posting Representative to join our team. As a key member of our Revenue Cycle Management department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely posting of payments, adjustments, and denials for our FVC Center locations.

As a Remote Payment Posting Representative, you will be an integral part of our team, working collaboratively to drive success and achieve our mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payments, adjustments, and denials for FVC Center locations via paper Explanation of Benefits (EOB) or electronic remittance files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Reconcile payment entries with daily bank deposits for the appropriate FVC locations, identifying and escalating discrepancies as needed.
  • Utilize medical billing software applications (Medical Manager or Imagine) to apply transactions to the appropriate accounts, ensuring accurate posting and reconciliation.
  • Maintain and update the Denial Batch Manager log, reviewing and addressing denied claims and under/overpaid claims.
  • Generate reports, including Cash Collections and payment application reports, to support departmental needs and goals.
  • Provide assistance to junior staff with general support tasks, as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Escalate complex issues to Team Lead or supervisor, as necessary, and assist with various projects as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of related experience in medical billing or collections, with a strong understanding of payment applications and healthcare software.
  • Excellent mathematical aptitude, with the ability to accurately process transactions and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows-based software applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.
  • A positive attitude, strong organizational and time-management skills, and a team-oriented approach.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

In addition to the required qualifications, we prefer candidates with:

  • Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and healthcare software applications.
  • Knowledge of government contracts, Medicaid, and Medicare regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
