Job Summary and Key Responsibilities
As a 625 FTE Tutor Advisor, you will be responsible for providing one-on-one tutoring, assisting with classroom management, and compiling and maintaining accurate student records. You will also be required to provide information, materials, and instructional support to classroom instructors, conduct parent involvement activities, and coordinate parent/family school functions. Additionally, you will be expected to attend meetings and parent conferences, provide support in a library or media center, and conduct progress monitoring assessments.
- Provide one-on-one tutoring to students in need of academic intervention
- Assist with classroom management, including organizing instructional and other materials
- Compile and maintain accurate student records on attendance, testing results, student progress, achievement, and other factors related to students' schooling
- Provide information, materials, and instructional support to classroom instructors
- Conduct parent involvement activities, including contacting parents/legal guardians by telephone, in writing, and/or home visits
- Coordinate parent/family school functions at the school site
- Attend meetings and parent conferences to provide information and facilitate communication between students/parents and instructors/school administration
- Provide support in a library or media center
- Conduct progress monitoring assessments and maintain accurate progress monitoring data
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have completed two years (48 semester credits) of study at an institution of higher education, or obtained an associate's degree, or met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics. You must also have the ability to maintain effective communication with students and staff, carry out and evaluate the achievement of students, and demonstrate adequate level of instructional technology skills.
