Job Summary
The Academic Advisor will play a vital role in our Academic Advisement team, supporting students from matriculation to graduation. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance and counsel, assisting students in areas associated with their academic experience, and serve as a liaison between Academics, Student Success, Financial Planning, and the Office of the Registrar. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive academic advising and support services for on-ground and online students, ensuring a personalized approach to meet individual needs and goals.
- Conduct ongoing student success reviews, making recommendations for improvement and maintaining up-to-date knowledge in the field to provide informed guidance.
- Collaborate with student life and development, academics, and the learning resource center to develop effective study strategies, tutoring, time management, and accountability programs, promoting student retention and success.
- Utilize analytics and data management systems to generate attendance reports, review student Academic Standing, confirm degree audits, and verify graduation requirements, monitoring student progress and identifying areas for support.
- Develop rapport with students, assessing individual situations and circumstances, creating personalized academic plans, tracking progress, and accurately reporting on all activities to the respective Department Deans.
- Identify "at-risk" students in partnership with Student Success, Financial Planning, the Office of the Registrar, and Department Deans, and communicate the implications of various policies and procedures related to academic and attendance policies.
- Assist students with understanding program transfers and shift changes, and attend reentry meetings to analyze requests for readmission from academic or attendance termination.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA, state law, and college policies, ensuring the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum one year of experience in Academic Advising at an institution of higher learning.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Reliable transportation, as travel between campuses may be required.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field, such as Education, Counseling, or Student Affairs.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including online and on-ground students.
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional areas, or the ability to assimilate rapidly.
- Experience with database management and LMS systems, as well as other software and advising practices.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $38,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
